Choosing the right shade of foundation-

A victim of too-light, vampire-like foundation at one point or another? No longer will that be the case. (That is, unless you want to attract the attention of the Halloween look.) As you begin to get more warmth from the Summer sun, you might need to switch your base shade to keep up with your complexion. Keep in mind, you do not use that same shade thoughout the whole life.

To learn more about selecting the perfect foundation for your skin tone, just keep reading.

Your Undertones: Cool or Warm undertone?
First, you need to know your skin if it's cool or warm undertone.
Generally speaking, if you look better in silver jewelry and you burn or get a rosy-red tan (does not tan well) in the sun, you're probably a cool

If your skin looks more alive in gold jewelry or you tend to get a more golden tan, you're likely a warm.

And of course, you're a neutral if you seem to be a combination of the two. Luckily, foundations are labeled accordingly, taking the majority of the guesswork out.

Here's a hint: most people are in the warmer skin-tone category. Very few has cool undertone.

Don't Think Pink:
Unless you're really fair or cool, anything with pink undertones is probably not going to work. For something more natural looking, a yellow-based foundation is likely to be a universally flattering choice, as most skin has yellow undertones.

TRY THESE STEPS : How to determine  your skin's undertone

1. In natural light, hold out your arm. If the veins on the inside of your elbow look green, you have warm undertones. Blue veins means cool.
2. Hold a piece of gold jewelry and a piece of silver jewelry up against your arm and see which one “pops” or looks better. Gold means warm and silver means cool.
3. Try on baby blue, white, cream, and rust colored clothing. Baby blue and white will look great on cools while cream and rust will look better on warms.
4. If you are really lucky everything looks good on you and you are a neutral. Lucky you!

Foundation types

Foundation-
The most important makeup investment for your skin.
Foundation generally comes in different forms:

Let me name a few types ...

Creams- Cream foundations are suitable for dry skin as they contain high proportion of oils and are creamy. Cream foundations provide heavy coverage but give a glossy finish. These have more moisturizing properties. It gives the highest coverage, cream are mostly used by markup artist for wedding photo shoot and TV shoot. However , if your skin is very dry, or flaky skin, BEWARE: because it can look "cakey" and the result can be slightly dull  and heavy-looking.

Liquids- Liquid foundations are easy to use and are packaged in bottles. These are available in oil based and water based formular. These are formulated for all skin types. They cover the skin smoothly with a light sheen and can be best suited to cover blemishes and scars. It gives you more coverage than a Tinted moisturizer but less than cream foundation.

Powders compact-  The powder foundation control shine and provide oil-blotting. Compact powders are heavily formulated as they contain a certain amount of foundation. Powders are used during the day for touching up and help to reinforce coverage.

Mineral Powder- Mineral foundation is becoming more and more popular. These are more natural, and some are better at preventing clogging of the pores than others. These natural kinds of makeup foundation are designed to, of course, give a more natural look and make it less obvious that a person is wearing makeup at all, or even feel like they are wearing makeup. It's good for daily use.

Of course, it also comes in : Stick, Mousse, Creme-to-powder,Tinted moisturizer.

Choosing the right tone foundation makeup is very important.

Picking the wrong makeup foundation is one of the most common mistakes women makes. For some odd reason, choosing the right foundation seems to be a step that most women simply just get wrong - sometimes horribly wrong. Few things are more unattractive than a beautiful woman whose face is an entirely different shade of color than her neck, or whose face is covered in foundation so thick that she looks like a wax figurine!

How to choose a right tone foundation?

The first step to achieving a successful makeup application begins by using the right type of foundation (please read above notes).

To pick out a foundation, you must find one that perfectly matches the color of your skin, or comes as close as possible. The foundation has to be the perfect color in order for it toblend smoothly and evenly into your skin.

  • put a dab of the product just above your jaw line or draw a stripe along your jaw line and then blend it in using your fingertips. The correct color should disappear into your skin, blending seamlessly
  • remember to test your foundation under the natural light
  • leave the test color on your skin for about 1 min, to see if the color changes when mixed with your skin oil.
Hope these few basic steps helps!

Polish Your Skin with A Sugar Scrub

Get Glowing Skin !

Polish Your Skin with A Sugar Scrub-

A sugar scrub can be used afterwards to further encourage the shedding of dead cells and to improve the look and feel of skin even more. Sugar scrubs are also an excellent way to polish and smooth the skin and leave it shining with health and vitality. Scrubs are highly recommended to add to your regular skin care regime.

Is sugar scrub safe?

A sugar scrub is very gentle on the skin and with care, is gentle enough to be used on the face (the emphasis being “with care” as facial skin can be damaged easily). Scrubs cleanse the skin as well as act as an exfoliate to polish the skin and they are also known to both circulate and stimulate fluids from the lymph glands. The oils in the scrub help to lock moisture into the skin and leave it feeling refreshed and invigorated.

Sugar cane produces one of the natural alpha hydroxy acids known as Glycolic.
which is often found in some of the more expensively priced beauty products on the market.
It boasts many positive effects to skin including improving dry skin, skin damaged by the harmful rays of the sun, problem skin that is prone to flare ups and thickened skin.
It is also very beneficial for those suffering from the skin Eczema.

How to Use

As sugar scrubs are excellent at removing dry patches and restoring the natural luster to skin. A new layer of skin is revealed after using a sugar scrub. Always massage the scrub on the face in a slow, circular motion and splash the scrub off when it is finished as opposed to wiping it off to help prevent scratching of delicate skin.

For best results a sugar scrub should be used on the body once a week and it is wise to use after dry skin brushing and as a precursor to a shower. While one can be done without the other for exfoliation purposes, a sugar scrub combined with the dry skin brushing process would allow the skin to reap even more benefits than if one was done alone.

There is no potential for any discomfort when you follow dry skin brushing with a sugar scrub as long as you use a gentle hand and are not in any way rough with your skin.

Most people should begin to notice a softer suppler feel to their skin after using both in a matter of a few weeks to a month’s time. Secondly, a little bit of scrub goes a long way. You don’t need to be heavy-handed in order to do the beauty job properly.

Where to Start

Sugar scrubs should always be applied in a circular motion and you should start with your feet, then do your ankles and work up your legs. Next apply the scrub to your arms, hands and shoulders, and work your way down your back and then finish by going up the torso and towards the heart. *A sugar scrub should never be applied to the nipples and avoid getting too close to the pubic area.

Test it

Sugar scrubs spread very easily over damp skin and rinse off cleanly. They are also excellent for all skin types, especially for dry to extremely dry skin. Even the most sensitive skin can be helped by the action of a sugar scrub and should not cause irritation, as previously mentioned. However if you are concerned about this then do a patch test first to determine if you are a good candidate for a sugar scrub. A patch test involves testing a small patch of skin on the inside of one of your arms and seeing how it reacts before you use it on your whole body.

A word of WARMING

Never push too hard or spend too long exfoliating, both when it comes to dry skin brushing as well as using a sugar scrub as it can damage underlying skin cells. Your goal is to improve the quality of your skin, not detract from it. A word of warning about scrubs (sugar scrubs as well as all other kinds)- never use one on your face or body the day of, or even the day before, a big event such as a graduation, wedding, job interview, big date, family reunion, etc. The reason for this is because on occasion temporary blotches can result due to the fact that you are removing a layer of dead surface cells. *A sugar scrub should never be applied to the nipples and avoid getting too close to the pubic area. DO NOT apply on cuts!!!

To Buy or to Make Your Own Sugar Scrub?

Sugar scrubs can be purchased in the beauty departments of many stores and come in a variety of delicious smelling flavors and fancy packaging. However the downside is that they can be fairly pricey.

Sugar scrubs you make at home can be every bit as effective for your skin and can be made at a fraction of the cost. You can choose to use either natural cane sugar, white granulated sugar or brown sugar. The cheapest to buy of the three is white sugar but it works exactly the same as sugar cane. Brown sugar on the other hand is even gentler on skin and some people prefer it for its warmer and more delicious scent. Who couldn’t love brown sugar! Light or brown sugar can be used but light is probably the yummier smelling of the two. You decide what you wish to use. But, I will prefer using brown sugar!

I would say, Try it on your foot... for just a few times u will see results !

SPF- For Summer!

What is SPF and why is it important?
SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor and is the universal measurement of protection against UV - ultra-violet - rays. It measures how much UV radiation is required to produce a sunburn on skin that's protected with sunscreen as opposed to how much UV radiation is required to produce a sunburn on unprotected skin.
Here's an example: An SPF 20 sunscreen will protect the skin against 20 times the exposure of UV rays than if you weren't wearing any sunscreen at all.
A common misconception is that a sunscreen's effectiveness can be calculated by multiplying the SPF value by the length of time it takes to get a sunburn without sunscreen. In reality, each person's sun exposure is dependent upon what time of the day it is, their geographic location, weather conditions, how long they're in the sun, and more.
The Importance of SPF
Studies have shown that the #1 cause of damage and aging to the skin is sun exposure. Excessive exposure to the sun's rays can cause wrinkling, a leathery skin appearance, and in worst cases - skin cancer. It's also been proven that overexposure to the sun can interfere with your immune system. Currently, sunscreen products containing a recommended SPF rating of 15 or above play an important role in helping diminish the harm of the sun's rays.
