Foundation types

Foundation-
The most important makeup investment for your skin.
Foundation generally comes in different forms:

Let me name a few types ...

Creams- Cream foundations are suitable for dry skin as they contain high proportion of oils and are creamy. Cream foundations provide heavy coverage but give a glossy finish. These have more moisturizing properties. It gives the highest coverage, cream are mostly used by markup artist for wedding photo shoot and TV shoot. However , if your skin is very dry, or flaky skin, BEWARE: because it can look "cakey" and the result can be slightly dull  and heavy-looking.

Liquids- Liquid foundations are easy to use and are packaged in bottles. These are available in oil based and water based formular. These are formulated for all skin types. They cover the skin smoothly with a light sheen and can be best suited to cover blemishes and scars. It gives you more coverage than a Tinted moisturizer but less than cream foundation.

Powders compact-  The powder foundation control shine and provide oil-blotting. Compact powders are heavily formulated as they contain a certain amount of foundation. Powders are used during the day for touching up and help to reinforce coverage.

Mineral Powder- Mineral foundation is becoming more and more popular. These are more natural, and some are better at preventing clogging of the pores than others. These natural kinds of makeup foundation are designed to, of course, give a more natural look and make it less obvious that a person is wearing makeup at all, or even feel like they are wearing makeup. It's good for daily use.

Of course, it also comes in : Stick, Mousse, Creme-to-powder,Tinted moisturizer.

Choosing the right tone foundation makeup is very important.

Picking the wrong makeup foundation is one of the most common mistakes women makes. For some odd reason, choosing the right foundation seems to be a step that most women simply just get wrong - sometimes horribly wrong. Few things are more unattractive than a beautiful woman whose face is an entirely different shade of color than her neck, or whose face is covered in foundation so thick that she looks like a wax figurine!

How to choose a right tone foundation?

The first step to achieving a successful makeup application begins by using the right type of foundation (please read above notes).

To pick out a foundation, you must find one that perfectly matches the color of your skin, or comes as close as possible. The foundation has to be the perfect color in order for it toblend smoothly and evenly into your skin.

  • put a dab of the product just above your jaw line or draw a stripe along your jaw line and then blend it in using your fingertips. The correct color should disappear into your skin, blending seamlessly
  • remember to test your foundation under the natural light
  • leave the test color on your skin for about 1 min, to see if the color changes when mixed with your skin oil.
Hope these few basic steps helps!

  1. I've used mineral power and i love how it blends into my skin, it looks so natural. I have oily skin so at the end of the day, my skin looks "shiny". How can I prevent the "shiny" looks?

  2. Hi Adeline,

Always apply toner, moisturizer, and sunblock (choose a sunblock which don't block pores) before putting on your makeup.

Moisturizer is the key, many woman had the idea of applying lesser moisturizer to prevent oily skin, but it's false, due to your skin is "dry", thats why the nartual oil came out of your face.
So, make sure you are well-moisturized. (Gel or cream type lotion for different types of skin)

The key is for your makeup to stay on and by this,ng to just sit will help perfect your look.

Every oily skin is different, but they should all use an oil-free foundation. It just fills in pores very nicely and it leaves a nice finish on the skin.

You may want to try, BareMinerals MATTE SPF 15 Foundation gives you all the flawless coverage you want and lasts up to eight hours. Lightweight minerals buff on beautifully, absorbing excess oil without drying out your skin.

Hope i have help on your question. Thank you for supporting.
